We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and consulting engineering. This is a full-time, on-site position in Dallas, TX.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing building mechanical systems and producing construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. This position also offers the opportunity to manage projects and help mentor less-experienced engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design HVAC systems for a variety of facility and building types.
- Develop construction drawings, specifications, and design documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform site surveys, field investigations, and existing-condition assessments.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with structural, electrical, plumbing, and other disciplines.
- Apply applicable building codes, engineering standards, and industry best practices.
- Assist with project planning, coordination, schedules, and client communication.
- Manage projects as experience allows.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of professional HVAC design experience.
- Strong knowledge of building mechanical systems, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- EIT or PE licensure, or demonstrated progress toward professional licensure, preferred.
- Project management experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Background of Interest
Candidates with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and prior Test and Balance (TAB) contractor experience may also be considered, particularly where that experience has provided a strong foundation in HVAC system performance and field operations.
