Senior Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Position Overview

An experienced Senior Commercial HVAC Service Technician is needed to diagnose, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC and mechanical systems at commercial and industrial facilities throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

This position is intended for a technician who can independently handle complex service calls, accurately diagnose system problems, communicate effectively with customers, and serve as a technical resource for less-experienced technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC and mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control-system issues.
• Service equipment including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, rooftop units, split systems, VRF systems, pumps, VFDs, and controls.
• Identify failing components and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
• Start up and commission repaired or newly installed equipment when required.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and control schematics.
• Accurately document service work, recommendations, equipment condition, and materials used.
• Communicate findings and repair recommendations to customers and facility personnel.
• Assist with emergency service calls when required.
• Mentor less-experienced technicians and assist with difficult diagnostic calls.
• Identify potential repair, replacement, and preventative-maintenance opportunities.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle.

Required Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience with medium-to-large commercial HVAC equipment.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical troubleshooting, controls, airflow, hydronics, motors, compressors, pumps, and VFDs.
• Ability to independently diagnose system problems and identify appropriate repairs.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Good documentation and time-management skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation if required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification preferred.
• Hands-on experience with several of the following: Chillers, Boilers, Cooling towers, Rooftop units, VRF/VRV systems, Pumps, VFDs, Building automation and controls, Hydronic systems, and Commercial mechanical systems.

Work Arrangement

Full-time field role serving commercial and industrial facilities throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas, area. Emergency service and participation in an on-call rotation may be required.
